I have done other free walking tours in other cities and find them to be fantastic and this one did not disappoint! We really enjoyed this walking tour! Our guide Michele - a certified guide but more importantly a wonderful story teller. This was not just a recitation of facts, figures and dates. These were stories told by a very knowledgeable person, well versed in Florentine history, but also in a very captivating and engaging manner. We loved this tour and didn't want it to end after the two hours. Michele also provided us with some tips and suggestions on where to eat and what to do, perhaps more like locals than tourists! He was even so kind as to answer a few lingering questions via WhatsApp. If we had had more time, we definitely would have sought him out for further tours! This a great tour to do at the start of your vacation as it covers a lot of iconic architecture and sculptures throughout the center of Florence and will help you get your bearings. Chiara was an excellent guide, informative and witty, able to answer questions and provide historical context to the sites we were seeing. The tour was well organised, the guides were easy to find in the morning and an extra special thank you for reaching out on WhatsApp the evening before, that was reassuring for a solo traveller.

What a great tour! Chiara was a wonderful guide and helped orient us to the city beautifully. After the tour, we had a great sense of where we were and what was important and how to interpret some of the signs and symbols that we saw around town. I would encourage anyone who is new to Florence to do this tour on their first morning.

Our guide, Chiara was awesome. She provided a lot of information during the 2 hour tour but it wasn't overwhelming or too long. She shared stories about the important figures who made Florence what it is today. We stopped at many important sites including the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Signoria and the Uffizzi Gallery. We learned how all of these sites are linked and who the people who were involved were. The best part is, you pay what you feel. There's no pressure to pay anything, if you feel it wasn't earned. It was definitely one of the best tours I've ever been on. Chiara - 5 stars

We really enjoyed this walking tour! I was skeptical at first, this being a "free tour". But we got a guide named Michele who was not only a certified guide and very knowledgeable about Florentian history, but also told the story of Florence in a very captivating manner while at the same time connecting it to the various artifacts around us. We had earlier pre-booked admission tickets to the various museums, cathedrals, palazzos, etc. but were able to appreciate those visits much more after this 2 hour introductory walking tour. Michele did explain that the way they are compensated is purely by tips, and everyone in our party rewarded him well for the fantastic job he did! It's always good to come back from a tour with a positive experience.

The tour with Chiara was excellent! she was very informative and explained the information in a fun and engaging way, she obviously knows her stuff and answered all of our questions with a great level of detail and enthusiasm for the history of Florence, we booked a party of 5 of various ages, and we all very much enjoyed it ! If you’re a first time visitor to Florence, make sure this tour is the first thing you do!

This was a really fun experience with a guide who knew his stuff and made the time we spent together much more fun than High School World History Class. It was great that the cost was pretty much limited to the tips we provided afterwards. We thought Florence was pretty busy, at least until we went to Rome.

This tour is a must to start your visit in florence. Michele, our guide, was nice and funny. He was a good storyteller. We learned about the medicci family and the Renaissance. The tour is 2 hours long. Don't forget to tip the guide.

This tour was such a great experience! Our guide (Michaelo) was extremely knowledgable and friendly, we learned a lot about the history of the city and it was also a great way to get familiar with the layout of the city in the beginning of our trip. At the end of the tour, Michaelo even gave us a list of his personal recommendations for food and activities in Florence. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city!
