Stop At: Ribera del Duero, Spain
Ribera has been considered the best area region of the world by The Wine Expectator in the year 2012. Ribera means “side of the river”. We are going to try to make you have a beautiful day visiting at least 2 wineries (maybe 3 if we are lucky). We will depart from Madrid at 9, 30 h and we will arrive to the first winery 2 hours later.
From there you will go to have lunch (not included in price of the tour). There are so many restaurants where you can taste the traditional Castilian food. This tour is about wine but we do not forget that there is a beautiful gastronomy on the area.
In the afternoon we will visit a second winery, different from the first. We might visit a third winery depending on how fast we arrive to the first winery or the time we spend in the different activities. We will try on the way to the wineries to show as much as we can in order to make you understand that Ribera del Duero is very good wine but also many other things. (Gastronomy, landscapes, maybe a castle, history, underground caves, etc). We are getting payed for this activity but our true prize is that at the end of the tour you are 100 % satisfied. This is our goal. We are happy when we get it. And our experience says that most of our clients are satisfied on how hard we try to make you have a beautiful day.
We will leave you at the same place where we started at 20 h.

Ignacio planned the perfect day trip to Ribera del Duero giving us a taste of three very different styles of vineyards. Ignacio was promptly on time at the meeting point and gave us a history lesson on the drive out which we enjoyed. Our favorite "bodega" was a family owned operation called "Bodegas Ismael Arroyo" (aka Valsotillo). Upon our arrival we were greeted by the owner which gave us a brief overview of the wine making process, his family's history, and then tour of the underground caves which they still actively use for the aging process. Afterwards we stopped for lunch at " Meson Restaurante El Lagar" (which is part of the third vineyard). I recommend just letting Ignacio order, trust me - you won't be disappointed! All of the food was delicious! We ended the trip with a nap in the car ride back to Madrid and drop off service in front of our hotel. We highly recommend Ignacio and this tour and would definitely book him again in the future. We had a fabulous day trip from Madrid into the Ribera del Duero wine region. We had a fabulous day trip from Madrid into the Ribera del Duero wine region. Our guide, Ignacio was full of stories which he told on the almost 2 hour ride to the region. We stopped at 3 completely different types of wineries--one huge one owned by a corporation with a beautifully architected main building, one small one employing cavesfor the fermenting process and storage, and one that had innovative methods and strong marketing strategies, incorporating a restaurant and hotel into the experience. In each, we got tastings as well as explanations on their production methods of wine. This was a great way to sample the different methods each winery employed while also sampling their output. Also, Ignacio took us to an excellent restaurant (cost not included in the tour so we were not restricted in what we ordered) that was owned by one of the wineries and was actually sitting on top of the original caves that housed the wine bottles from the winery. Ignacio was very attentive to our preferences for food and wine and how long we wanted to spend at each stop. Our day was actually longer than we had paid for, because Ignacio wanted us to get the full experience and have fun while learning about the region, its history and culture. One of the highlights of our trip to Madrid. Ignacio was a great guide, knowledgeble and dynamic. Highly recommended

We were on the tour with two other people and Ignacio. Ignacio was a perfect guide: knowledgeable and fun! We stopped at two wineries and had some really good wines while also learning about wine making. We even met the owner of one of the wineries! We stopped for lunch and it was SO good. Ignacio knew what to order and it was also one of the best meals we had in Spain. We also saw the beautiful countryside as we drove to the wineries with a few fun stops along the way. The Ribero Del Duero region was very nice and had really nice wine. I would highly recommend this tour!I had an amazing time with Ignacio on our visit to Ribera del Duero! He was an amazing, knowledgeable, and funny host who made our time very enjoyable. We had the chance to visit several wineries, a castle, and a monastery. Will definitely look up Winebus again next time we are in Spain!
