Stop At: Medellin, Medellin, Antioquia Department
or we will pick you up at your hotel to start our road trip to the municipality of El Peñol, located 69 kilometers from the city of Medellín, where we will make our first stop of the replica of the "old Peñol", a town that was flooded to make way for the huge hydroelectric dam that has 2, 260 hectares of water, get on an adventure boat to navigate this incredible lake and see the most beautiful landscapes and tourist attractions such Pablo Escobar "la Manuela" farm, the boat ride, we will go to the gigantic rock of the Peñol that is 220 meters high and its 740 steps leads to one of the best views in the world, then we will go to the municipality of Guatape, where you will be fascinated by its Colorful houses and their friendly people, we will visit the "square of zocalos" and the promenade of Guatape.

My second day in Medellin booked with company after doing Comuna 13 and City Tour yesterday. I had Mr. Joshua again as my driver and guide. My second day in Medellin booked with company after doing Comuna 13 and City Tour yesterday. I had Mr. Joshua again as my driver and guide. I was picked up at 8 and got to El Penol after at least 1.5 hr drive. I made it to the top in 16 minutes. They have small vendors that sell souvenirs and food to cool off. I got myself mango’s in a cup. There is another set of stairs going down separate from going up. So glad we got there before the crowds and before the sun came out. Town of Guatape is beautiful. Lunch was great with a view of the lake. I opted not to do the boat tour because I’ve seen what I wanted to see. You also have to pay extra if you want to do the public tour without guide or private tour with your guide. I booked this excursion on short notice. I recommend you either book on Trip Advisor/Viator or you take out money from ATM if doing other excursions with this company. Mr. Camilo, the owner, was nice enough to come to my hotel with a credit card machine. He also recommended a POC in the next destination I’m headed to next. Very happy with my tour and that I did it with the same guide from yesterday. I love traveling and enjoy getting to know the people of the countries I visit.mikasae2023
