Alistair was such a passionate and funny guide! My family and I had the joy of seeing Edinburgh through the magical Potter Trail guided tour which gave a dimension to our stay that we wouldn’t otherwise have seen ourselves. I warmly recommend this to everyone who is the least bit interested in Harry Potter (books or movies)

Great tour led by Charlie. Even the people on our tour who weren’t Potter heads enjoyed themselves. It was a great tour for people on a budget and myself and my friend were more than happy to give a decent tip at the end of our tour, especially since Charlie hung around to give us some local food recommendations. If you want a genuine potter tour and an ethical one (no exaggerations and they give part of their profits to some great charities) than look no further!

Charlie is AMAZING!! My friend and are visiting Edinburgh for the first time, and Harry Potter connections in the city was a big priority for me. The Potter Trail is the perfect choice! Charlie’s positive and playful demeanor was infectious, and the tour was so lighthearted, fun, informational, and the tour flew by! We didn’t want it to end. I’m a diehard Potter fan and most of the information he taught us was new to me, which made it all the more worthwhile. We even learned things about the city itself, this makes the tour accessible to all levels of Potter fans and fun for muggle friends and family who tag along with you. Could not recommend this company or Charlie enough— a MUST do on any Edinburgh traveler’s itinerary!

We started off our tour with Collin, who was our wizard guide! Had a wonderful time exploring different locations from where JK Rowling drew inspiration during her time writing in Edinburgh and also some popular spots as shown in the movie. A great way to discover hidden gems in Edinburgh, and, of course you can compete with other teams to win some house points during the Potter quiz! 10/10 definitely recommend if you’re up for a fun afternoon with family or friends! Just don’t forget to wear comfy shoes :)

Interesting walking tour around the main streets and places that inspired J.K. Rowling. Becky shared a lot of fun facts about the writer and about how and where she found some of her inspirations. She is fun and she engaged us with some questions during the tour. The tour suits all ages, also the children had fun. I highly recommend this tour if you are a Harry Potter fan!

Big HP fans and our first time ever in Edinburgh! Absolutely fantastic tour! Our guide Caroline was brilliant I think its great she message us the morning of, there was so much more information we didn't know and was amazing to see all the places the books were inspired by or written. Loved the house sorting game was brilliant. It's amazing they offer the free tour but the hard work and enthusiasm that goes into the tour is well worth a donation at the end would definitely recommend! My experience with Roisin as our tour guide was delightful. She expertly navigated us through the city’s landmarks that have significant ties to the Harry Potter series. Her ability to captivate the children’s attention and share intriguing insights with the adults was impressive. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. Roisin was proactive in communicating, reaching out via WhatsApp before the tour to provide details about the meeting point, identifying features, and instructions for late arrivals, including dropping a pin if necessary. This communication also allowed for the flexibility to cancel if unforeseen changes occurred. The tour was interactive, with Roisin encouraging questions at any point and ensuring ample opportunities for photographs. Concluding the tour, participants were invited to tip based on personal appreciation and financial comfort. A truly commendable experience.

This was a nice experience to see Edinburgh for other perspective. Our guide Roosin was the best, she knew her way around and was a great one-woman show. Interesting facts about J.K. Rowling and bunch of other stuff. Eventhough it was a slightly nerdy, she called it out loud and still we had a great time. Try it yourself!
