Dean and Faith are personable and fun guides for this wonderful horse back trip in the San Juan Forest. The horses are so well trained, they matched riders with the horses perfectly and the views and trail are breathtaking. I have been on many trail rides and this one was absolutely the best! The variety of the ride was also refreshing - downhill, uphill, thru a stream, viewed a waterfall, between the trees, in the open meadow - we experienced a ride in a variety of terrain. A must for anyone who enjoys horse back rides. My husband and I (age 69 & 70) did this with our two granddaughters (age 8 & 10). My husband and I (age 69 & 70) did this with our two granddaughters (age 8 & 10). We arrived a little late and then by the time we were all on our horses there was thunder and lightning right close. Dean (and we agreed ) made the decision that we should get off our horses and get in our cars. Good Decision!! I would have freaked out on a horse. We had about a 1.5 hour thunderstorm!! We ate our delicious lunch in the car. Then it stopped but radar showed another one coming later. We decided to go for it but just take a shorter ride. We rode for 2-3 hours through the forest up in the mountains!!! It was beautiful! The horses were awesome! It was a little scary on some of the trails where you were riding on the edge of the mountain and it goes straight down!! Not for someone that has never ridden! Dean was great and the ride was amazing!! I highly recommend this trip but I think it was a blessing for this 69 year old that it was not 6 hours!! Would have been too much!!This was one of the all-time high experiences of a lifetime! It was a little piece of heaven! Dean and his daughter were amazing! This was one of the all-time high experiences of a lifetime! It was a little piece of heaven! Dean and his daughter were amazing! We took the six hour ride to Cascade Falls and every turn offered breathtaking views! Dean was a great guide and extremely confident, very personable, and made sure we had a wonderful time! The horses were nothing but outstanding! Very sure footed and confident! I can’t recommend this any more strongly! Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience!
