Arrival in Igoumenitsa.
Igoumenitsa is a coastal city in northwestern Greece. Igoumenitsa is the chief port of Thesprotia and Epirus and one of the largest passenger ports of Greece, connecting northwestern Mainland Greece with the Ionian Islands and Italy.

The central square of Spianada is the most significant monument of the town. It is said that it is the largest square in the Balkans. Liston, which is part of the square, houses some of the finest cafes and restaurants in Corfu. The French were the ones who turned the Spianada into a public square.

The elegant Liston stretching along the edge of central square, is Corfu's most popular promenade and the heart of Corfiot life and culture. The tasteful arcades of Liston which house numerous cafés and restaurants nowadays, were built by the French in 1807 based on the Rue de Rivoli in Paris

It is a single-nave basilica and its bell tower is the highest in the Ionian Islands. It is the most famous church in Corfu.

The New Fortress of Corfu played an important role in the protection of the town against pirates and enemies in Medieval times. The entire fortress is an intricate network of compartments and galleries.

The Town Hall of Corfu is housed in an elegant mansion of Venetian style, constructed in the late 17th century. At first, it used to be a club for noblemen, then a theatre and in 1903 it was turned into the Town Hall.

The Palace was built in 1890 exclusively for Elizabeth (Sissy), the Empress of Austria. It used to serve as the summer retreat of the Empress, who named it Achillion after her favorite Greek hero, Achilles. After her assassination, it was sold to the Kaiser of Germany.
