We took part in the 3 day/2night tour covering Aswan & Luxor by plane from Cairo. Luxor was great and our tour guide, Mona was exceptional and would highly recommend her. Hot air balloon was also fantastic. Our lunch that day in Luxor was with Mohammed and his family in his home. Mohammed is part of the same travel agent who organized our trip. Fantastic traditional lunch and our hosts were very hospitable and kind. Aswan, however is where the tour was lacking. We had a terrible tour guide (Big Mac) who would just BS his way along all day. Make sure you ask you DON'T get this guy as your tour guide. He is awful and should be fired. The hotel that night was another huge disappointment. The package included a 4 star hotel and this one was nowhere near 4 star (Pyramisa ISIS Island Hotel, Aswan). We had 2 rooms that were supposed to be non-smoking. But they gave us 2 smoking rooms. We asked for a change. We got 2 other rooms that has no WIFI and guess what - were also smoking rooms. So we went back to the original ones because of WIFI. But very bad rooms. Old carpets, bad furniture, bathrooms that were not cleaned, door locks that did not work, and one of the rooms had exposed live electrical wires (I have pictures). But the staff was too busy registering new guests and making $$ so they couldn't care less.
