Booking the 2D1N trekking + homestay tour with Sapa Original Trek was easily the best experience we’ve had in Vietnam. I was travelling with my Dad who’s a senior citizen, and this tour company have a huge variety of tour routes that accomodate all ages. The one we chose in the end was ST8, which was considered to be one of the more popular routes but also manageable. Don’t get me wrong, the route was challenging and difficult due to the monsoon in June, but our tour guide, Sinh, and the homestay family were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly throughout this trip. Highly highly recommend this to anyone who’s going to Sapa to trek! We will definitely come back again! The experience was amazing! I travel with 3 kids and enjoy every minute of it! The experience was amazing! I travel with 3 kids and enjoy every minute of it! Our guide La was extremely kind specially with my 8 y old. She also help us engage and understand the local costumes . Our hostess at the home stay as well as her family where very welcoming ! They gave us a cooking class on spring rolls and shared their great food with us . The rooms and toilets were very clean. The nature and the trails were so beautiful, they took our breath away, so much that my 8, 14 and 16 years old kids did not even complain about the many hours of walking!! I highly recommend the experience !!The tour was very well organized. We we picked up at the bus station, given a warm shower then had a very good breakfast. The tour was very well organized. We we picked up at the bus station, given a warm shower then had a very good breakfast. Due to Corona virus we ended up having a tour guide just for ourselves. He was excellent. Very polite, respectful, friendly and showed a good knowledge of local people, traditions and the area. I would strongly recommend Sapa Original Trek. This was the best part of our trip to Vietnam so far. Everyone we interacted with during our stay was great. Do not leave Vietnam without visiting Sapa off the beaten track. Very much recommended ! Thank you Mr Minh for a great experience

Great tour, but the days only run from 9am-2/3pm, and the first day I had the whole afternoon free. Now this is advertised but still a surprise how much time you actually have. My first day I 'trekked' to very very touristy cat cat village (this I couldve walked around on my own it was easy to navigate and easy to trek). Yes it was nice to have a local H'mong lady talk to me about the culture but not value for money to be honest. Especially since we finished at lunchtime. Hotel overnight was decent enough private room very clean with nice bathroom ensuite. But wifi didnt work well- receptionist at eden mountain view hotel did let me use their phone to sort a bank issue though. Meals decent but not great, they sorted out my vegetarian requests. Mr Tihn and the lady who run the office were super accomdating and let me store bags and shower in the (very basic but hot water) 'office shower'. Second day trekking was really great, got put with a big group which was fine ans the views were stunning because of better weather. Check forecast before you book becayse first day was a total whiteout and couldnt see anything. Second day was a bit longer and we finished trekking by 3pm. Villages still very touristy with children and adult hawkers constantly trying to sell you things, but this is inevitable. Trek itself was fine for me but most people struggling with steep descent and slippery rocks and mud - dont wear converse or wellies you will have no grip, especially if it has rained. Quite challenging for most people everyone was sweating unless you are fit. But great fun i think even for those who struggled. Overall, tour was ok value, id say sapa is touristy enough now that you can do it on your own.
