Great experience and fantastic personal service. Hats off to Beast Tours for setting this up and executing so well. Bike Safari is truly a unique experience. The boat ride (optional extra) is a must have.

The trip was amazing. The tour guide took us on a cycling trip to the stunning hells gate. He is knowledgable about the plants, rock formations, and animals. We also went into the gorge, which was beautiful. The day ended with a very relaxing boat ride on lake naivasha. The driver and guide created a very nice, friendly, and safe vibe. Booking this tour was very easy. The tour company got back to my questions very fast.

Jaffar and our driver are friendly and trying to give you a great experience. Riding bikes while seeing wildlife was exiting. Boat tour should not be a miss.

An absolutely amazing day with Jaffar & our driver Mr Kazungu. Our pickup was perfectly on time as planned. When we arrived at Hells Gate, Jaffar ensured we were happy with our chosen bicycles. The ride through the park was great, we learnt alot & saw lots of different animals. The hike into the gorge was slighty tricky in parts but well worth it for what we experienced when we reached the gorge floor. Masai John joined us for the gorge & was also a great guide. We did have a heavy rain shower enroute back to the park gate but we managed to shelter in one of the huts. Lunch was great & the skies cleared for our boat ride on Lake Naivasha. Again, lots of wildlife on offer on & off the water. The day ended with a flawless dropoff at our hotel. All in all, as I opened this review with….. an absolutely amazing day! Thanks again

Kuzungu is tour guide gold! Funny, courteous & flexible to the needs of the group. In this case it was a group of one, me!! We had the best day. We were going to cycle round Hells Gate but the rain meant a change of plan. There were plenty of stops for photos etc & a nice walk in nature. Lots of wildlife spotted. Also had a blast on the boat, seeing plenty of birds & even watched a hippo fight. A truly superb day!

Our visit to Hell's Gate and Lake Naivasha was easily the best experience that we had during our week long trip to Kenya. Hell's Gate doesn't have any big cats which may turn some people off but that also means that you can get out of the car and get really close to Zebras and Giraffes among other animals. Although we didn't partake in it ourselves you can also rent bikes and ride around the park. All national parks in Kenya offer stunning scenery but in my opinion Hell's gate with its towering cliffs and other worldly gorge is a stand out. Lake Naivasha on the other hand, is probably the most beautiful lake I have ever been to. You can get very very close to Hippos and the lake itself with the magnificent Mt. Longonot in the background is really picturesque. After the boat ride on Lake Naivasha we had lunch at the Lake Naivasha crescent camp. The food was very good and there's also a buffet available but since we had a breakfast buffet at our hotel we didn't go for the buffet at the camp. However, I would be doing a great disservice if I didn't mention our guide Jaffar and our driver Mr. Kazungu. Not only were they incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining in their description of the park, its geology and history, they also helped us out of a really troublesome spot. Our bank cards weren't working with the ATMs in Kenya and we were really running low on cash. Eventually we had to use Western Union to get some money. However it was a Friday. Jaffar made some adjustments to quicken up our trip and get back to Nairobi on time and when we were stuck in traffic he even paid for a bike taxi to get us to the Western Union office. I have travelled across many countries and I can tell you that I have never come across a guide and driver who care more for their customers.

Had a great time! Frank was a great guide and would answer any questions I had. The driver Johnson was also very friendly and made sure we got there and back safely. In hells gate I saw lots of animals and beautiful nature. Make sure you don't miss the boat ride, it was an incredible experience as well.

We had a great day at Hells Gand the nearby Lake with Festus acting as the perfect guide and friend. He accommodated all of our requests, like stopping a a roadshow souvenir shop, and was fun to be with all day. He is knowledgeable and friendly, and I would highly recommend him for your travel plans. Driving in Nairobi seems chaotic so having his expertise was a life saver. Paul Danes

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Our guides were fantastic! The views were indescribable - from the bike ride, to the lookout point above the gorge, to the walk down into and through the gorge. Everything was amazing! As an overweight asthmatic, it was very strenuous at times, but I got through it with no training or real hiking experience. I would absolutely do this again! Lake Naivasha was great too! Our boat guide was incredibly knowledgeable. We saw a ton of different birds and got up close to a bunch of hippos!

This tour was wonderful. From the biking to the hiking and the boat! You see everything from all angles. Saw many animals. The hike was rigorous for us out of shape Americans but we survived. Thank you to our tour guides for being so wonderful!

If, like me, you were trapped in a windowless conference room in a mall hotel in the middle of Nairobi for four days, and if, like me, you weren't sure if you were going to get a free day so you didn't plan anything, and if, like me, you crave an active, physical adventure (not just sitting in a vehicle looking at animals from behind glass), then please book this tour! I really had no idea how amazing it was going to be - I booked the day before and the tour guide was extremely responsive. The hotel pickup makes everything so easy, and the trip itself was super cool. It doesn't take long to get to Hells Gate, and the early morning drive is nice (against traffic!) and my guides (Frank and Calvin) were kind, knowledgeable, and funny. The bikes for the Hell's Gate are a little old, but they are safe and they get you around. The bikeride, however, is absolutely stunning. Wild cliff faces, expansive pastures full of gazelle, zebra, giraffes. Its an easy ride to a nice hike by the gorge and a fun challenge back (a little uphill - take it easy and you'll be fine!). Highly recommend the hat - the sun gets intense towards the end of the trip. Lake Navaisha is a beautiful way to rest after your bikeride - super chill, interesting birds and animals and landscape and a cool breeze. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough - especially for a kind-of-last-minute decision. There are so many options for day trips out of Nairobi - this one is a really great option that gets your body moving, gives you a ton of landscapes to appreciate, and gives you a day with some awesome staff.

This is a solid tour. All organisation and communication was great. I was hoping there might be others on the tour, but it was just me and the two drivers. The car was also quite small, so felt the bumps! Pickup was 7am, took about 1.5 hrs to get to Hell's Gate and Naivasha. Stopped at gift shop en route. Watch out for the sales tactics, know the value of items beforehand, and don't accept foreign currency/favour if offered, as fake. Cycling was great fun. Some of the bikes could be in a better condition. Lots of opportunities to see Zebra, wilderbeast, gazelle, giraffe etc. Shame they closed the gorge, but we got close enough to sample the hot springs. The lunch place buffet was 3,000KS, so ask for the menu if you want smaller/cheaper. As usual, lots of salad and carbs, main was chicken and beef. The boat trip was probably the best part of the day. Watching the African Eagle dive for dish and seeing Hippos enjoying their day. Johnson and Frank were very friendly and communicative, and knew their stuff. I'd happily book again.

I had a wonderful day in Hell's Gate: cycling and walking through the national park and seeing zebras and giraffes up close is a completely different feeling than on a guided car tour. Visiting the island on the lake also had its own unique atmosphere when suddenly the giraffes were standing a few meters in front of you. I got along perfectly with my Jaffar tour guide and our driver. We talked a lot about the tour, but also about the country and its people, social issues, culture and economic developments, because Jaffar was polite, eloquent and, above all, extremely well informed and a real person pleasant conversation partner. A great companion on this day and a real recommendation.

Festus was a wonderful guide for a fun day at Hell’s Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha. Cycling through the park in the morning was a great way to see several animals up close, lots of zebras, impala, and even buffalo. Lunch at Crescent Camp Lodge was delicious after a boat ride around the lake. The best part was seeing all the animals on the island from the boat. There must have been well over 100 of several species grazing near the shoreline. Festus was a great guide who answered all my questions and checked in throughout the day to make sure I had everything I needed. While Hell’s Gate may not have some of the larger animals or more of the Big 5 like other parks, it is still a stunning area and a unique experience.

Excellent trip with tour guide Jaffar and driver. Very comfortable car. Really enjoyed bike ride in Hell's Gate. Beautiful scenery. 8km to mouth of gorge and same back. Was reassuring that if I couldn't make it back, the driver would be on hand, but I managed it! Felt thermal springs at gorge, water was really hot! Lots of wild baboons around gorge, interesting to watch. Didn't walk inside gorge itself. I think you can access some parts with local guide but it was quite hot already. We had started our bike ride about 9am so quite a few animals to spot in park at that time. Also park was not at all busy. Then went to Lake Naivasha on way back. Pay extra $25 each if you want boatride on lake. Skipped the lunch option so don't know what restaurant is like. Place a bit touristy but accept people need to make a living. Enjoyed the day and very professional. Thank you Jaffar!
