This was an exceptionally fun way to spend the afternoon. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area, which made the trip interesting. There was an elderly gentleman in our raft and the guide went out of his way to make sure the gentleman was safe and comfortable and yet enjoying the trip. My only complaint is that for some reason the photographer was unable to get a picture.Just go with Orange Torpedo! Our experience August 2022 was really disappointing. Just go with Orange Torpedo! Our experience August 2022 was really disappointing. Did they safely get us down the river? Yes, but let's start with the cold welcome from the front desk and then the guides and the very smelly (body odor) van ride to the river. We were told to leave everything in our cars which we did but once fitted for life jackets we had a few things to put in the dry bags. The guide seemed pretty annoyed even though the web sites states that dry bags are available. It was the first time taking our kids and we were excited for them but we quickly figured it wouldn't be great because after the first rapid of paddling they were thirsty and we turned to our guide and asked for water and there was nothing for us. Even though the web site specifically states that there will be snacks and drinks? I left my water bottle in my car. So now we are on a 2 hour ride in the hot sun with nothing to drink. I was very confused because that is one of the questions you have to answer when you fill out the safety form and register for the trip? It lists water or coke products. As we continue to float down the river our guide was very impersonal and didn't even tell us about fun things we could do until too late ie float certain rapids in our life jackets or stop at certain spots(snack/drink break like the website states.) We passed a few Orange Torpedo boats and they seemed like they were have a blast. We made it to the boat ramp and realized we lost a pair of Patagonia shorts($50) somewhere down the river. They should have been in the dry bag but like a stated before that was a touchy issue. Another smelly ride back to the shop where there are no pictures of our adventure? Pretty sure the website says something about that as well. It was a disappointing experience. We called later that week to talk with someone about the miss communication about the drink issue and of course they said they would get back to us but they didn't.We did the half-day morning trip so that we could drive the Lolo Pass in the afternoon. We did the half-day morning trip so that we could drive the Lolo Pass in the afternoon. It was a great trip! I was a little concerned as I was traveling with my adult daughter Elizabeth who tends to panic or freeze up in dangerous situations. She ended up sitting on the floor of the raft holding on but could see the excitement over the side of the raft. I also chose an oar raft for more stability. Kelly was our guide and she couldn’t have been sweeter or more attentive to Lizzy, before, during, and after the trip. I highly recommend Mountain River Outfitters!First timer here and had a complete blast! Tessa was an amazing guide and we couldn't have had a better time! I highly recommend taking the trip and experiencing it for yourself.

We’ve had a new guide each trip and never disappointed! This year was Tes. She was awesome! We appreciate getting to have our group of 9 on the same raft. See ya next time!
