Home to almost 81 million people, Germany is the largest country in central Europe and an influential country both culturally and economically. Following World War II, Germany was a divided country and it has only been roughly 27 years that the Germany of today has been unified; which makes their progress and current standing as a nation quite remarkable.
Given its history and more recent past, Germany offers travelers a number of experiences that vary depending on the region (or even neighborhoods) visited. Travelers can see very modern cities one day and an amazingly preserved castle the next. The beer is legendary and the people much friendlier than their reputation might suggest.
