Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Tourmega will be glad to present an experience like no such other. Since the movie Jaws has been released in 1975 it has brought fear to the eyes of the public creating a harmful image to sharks. However, they are more harmless than you think as you are more likely to be killed from being hit by champagne corks than being killed by a shark. Interesting fact that should make you think twice to where you point the cork or maybe it’s time to start a new hobby and be kept away from the bottle of champagne. Perhaps try something new such as diving with these beautiful species that is a shark. Shark diving has been bringing the ocean to the people giving them visible views of what lives under the ocean. There are more than 465 known species of sharks that live in the ocean, but the most popular sharks that tend to be seen most often for divers are the great white, hammerhead shark, Tiger shark, whale shark, and a Thresher shark. The Great White Shark is the largest predatory fish on the ocean that tends to grow as the size of a school bus and can weight up to 2.5 tons or more. These legendary species tend to be the most fear by most people due to their size and weight but have been known for their attacks worldwide to be not fatal as they tend to release humans once they attack than to prey on them. The Great White can go up to speeds of 15 miles per hour as they slither through the water with their powerful tails. You can find the Great White usually in the waters in South Africa, the south coast of Australia, and Guadalupe. Now moving onto the Hammerhead shark which tends to be popular because of the shape of their head that improves their vision and sensory perception that allows them to better their ability to find prey. These sharks can weight up from 500 to 1000 pounds and their size can grow up to 20 feet in length. Most popular sites of this beautiful shark can be found in Socorro, Cocos Island, Malpelo, Galapagos Islands, Fiji, Tahiti, Malaysia, Maldives, Bimini, and the Bahamas. The Tiger shark which is referred to that name due to its patterns and is considered to be the most popular sharks that are searched by divers. These sharks can grow from 10 to 14 feet and can weigh up to 1,400 pounds. They have sadly been heavily harvested for their fins, skins, flesh, and their livers that do contain high levels of Vitamin A that is used for olive oil. They can be found mostly in the Southern Pacific, Caribbean, and South Africa. Next, the Whale shark is the largest fish in the sea reaching from 18 to 33 feet and can weigh up to 21 tons. They are another shark that divers love seeing usually because of their wide mouths that basically filters food through their mouth, crescent-shaped tail, and their unique color with that contains white spots. Whale sharks can be found all over the world as they prefer warm waters and tend to migrate in spring towards the central coast of Australia that gives divers the opportunity to get an amazing view. It is also known if you are lucky you can hitch a ride with these enormous sharks during their migrations that are known to in the Galapagos between May and November, Mexico from June to September, Mozambique and the Philippines from November through to May. Lastly, the Thresher shark which can be considered one of the most beautiful sharks that live under the ocean for divers with their long tail that tends to attack its prey with it. They tend to grow no more than 20 feet and weight up to 216 pounds. The Thresher shark is usually found in deep waters with the best sightings around the Philippines and Malapascua.
